Copper Wire Stake Hummingbird Feeder with built-in Ant Moat measures approximately 20 inches (top to bottom). Feeder includes 2 bottles which are 1 ounce glass with a red cap and a sipper hole.  One bottle is for the feeder and the other can be filled and kept in the refridgerator for easy cleaning and refilling. These feeders are perfect additions to patio pots, cactus gardens, balconies, camping sites, picnics or for anywhere you may want to attract Hummingbirds. The copper wire is Clear Coated to reduce oxidation.
 
The clear bottle makes it easy to see the sugar water level and check for cleanliness. Bottle and cap are hand washable and recycleable. Handmade in the USA. Sizes vary slightly and beading colors varies but all have red beads.  The copper wire is clear coated to reduce oxidation.  Feeder comes with a nectar recipe and instructions for feeding courtesy of The Hummingbird Society website: www.Hummingbirdsociety.org. 
 
No Feeder is completely bee or insect proof but this Feeder's design discourages bees, wasps and other birds because they cannot reach the nectar.  There is also no dripping from the Feeder's cap to attract ants on the ground or water to pool inside a cup or container.  
 
Feeder has a built in Ant Moat.  
 
Moats can be filled with water or a few drops of mineral oil to coat the bottom of the moat.  Our clients report best results with mineral since food oils (like olive oil or canola oil) can attract Grease Ants in many parts of the United States.  Also, food oils have a tendancy to dry out, become tacky and collect dirt.  Once this happens, the ants can walk through the moat and up to the feeder.  **Vaseline or Crisco type shortenings are never recommended by birders on any part of the feeder since it can get on the feet, beak and feathers of the bird and prevent them from flying by coating the feathers. 
 
*Built in Ant Moats are functional only as ant moats and too small to be multi purposed as drinking cups for birds.
